How to deal with Constipation

Many people are troubled by constipation. However, they adopt all kinds of methods to treat it, which lasts for some time, but after some time this stomach problem occurs again and not to mention that a bad stomach can give you sleepless nights

Because of this, such people are forced to think whether they will ever get rid of constipation or not.
Usually, people do not take constipation seriously because in their eyes it is a common problem, which does not require much attention, while there are some people who are looking for better treatment. Even i also had the same mindset few years before. I used to take constipation for granted and use to think that it is temporary problem and will go away on its own but i was completely wrong.

So What really is Constipation ?

If you ask an average Joe what is Constipation he will tell you its some issue related to Stomach problem. So in simple language Constipation means stomach problem in which a person has difficulty in excretion. Apart from this, he also has severe pain during excretion, for which he has to seek medical help. In this condition the stool becomes hard and dry, which causes pain. A Hard stool can lead to various other problems in your digestive system.

I have also experienced the same hard stool related problem many times and it is one of worst things you could experience.

Why Does Constipation occur?

The Constipation can occur due to various reasons but all those Reasons lead to one same root cause and that is “YOUR WAY OF LIVING AND YOUR HABITS” atleast this was one of the main reason in my case. We need to understand that our Digestive system is one of the most complex system in human body. A lot of organs are involved in executing the digestive process.

The first and foremost reason is your diet. Eating food that is high in calorie, fried or consuming dairy products in higher quantity are top most reasons. Our digestive system has a limit to process the food and if you eat abnormally at irregular intervals then it causes a problem called “Bloating”.

Also one should not take a nap immediately after having a dinner. Doing so causes the food to move towards esophagus (Your Food pipe) rather than moving towards the intestines. Also we should try to chew our food properly. The properly chopped food particles are easier to digest for our digestive system. Drinking tea or coffee in late night can also worsen the digestion.

Home remedies to cure constipation

I am not going to tell you folks the basic and common ways to treat constipation as most of you are already aware of such methods . I would like to share some of my personal tried and tested methods to deal with constipation.

Different people will tell different methods to cure constipation but according to my very own experience one simple solution for dealing with Constipation is Drinking Water and i mean atleast 4 litres of water a day. Water acts as an ‘lubricant’ for our digestive system. Though keep in mind that you should avoid drinking water immediately after eating, drink water after atleast an hour of it

Below are some of my tried and tested home remedies

  1. Soak Triphala (Three fruit) powder in an earthen pot. Sip and drink its water before sleeping.

  2. Soak a spoonful of flaxseed in a glass of water. Drink this water and chew the linseed and eat it.

  3. Soak some raisins in water. Drink this water before bedtime and eat raisins. Raisins are really good for digestion.

  4. Boil 2-3 figs in milk. Drink lukewarm milk and eat figs before sleeping at night.

  5. Drink a teaspoon of castor oil in a glass of lukewarm milk before bedtime. I know most you don’t like castor oil but believe me people this method really works.

  6. Dissolve 2 spoons of aloe vera gel in a glass of lukewarm water before bedtime

  7. Chew a spoonful of celery with a little jaggery. Drink lukewarm water from above.
