Today i would like to post about farming in the Philippines.

For starters, our weather here in the Philippines is mostly nice and sunny.

Since my farm is in the lowlands and is a clay loam type the perfect crop would be tobacco.

Did you know, Philippines also exports tobacco?

But since I stopped smoking and I do not want to further support smoking due to all the negative health problems smoking causes, I decided to plant vegtables.

So first off, to get started planting we have to prep the soil by going over it once or twice with a tractor. Since its a clay type soil we will have to use different implements.

Now after the help of the tractor and tractor driver. The soil has to be fine tuned :D for this to happen we need to ask the help of MR.Beefy our 2 and half year old mean lean plowing machine.

After plowing the field Mr.Beefy gets to go back grazing and pursuing the daily tasks cows like doing. :)

Thanks to Mr.Beefy the field now looks like this.

After the soil has been tended to, we can get started on the seeding.

Now, since the seedlings are a week old we can start with the pure organic fertelizing.

This chocolate looking mixture is cow dung deluted in water. Thanks again to Mr.Beefy for the daily contributions. :)

On a weekly interval the crops are being watered with this rich mixture.

After the daily routine of spraying the plants with organic home made insect repelants, we are able to see the outcome.

This is Atsal a filipino native bellpepper used in many different dishes.

And not to forget black pavito petchay. Very healthy and extremly tasty when placed in beef soup ( Bulalo ).

Since petchay is a cash crop it can be harvested within 20 to 25 days, unlike the Atsal which takes 3 to 4 months to produce its first crop.12289658_10153844788056812_7259213677784234500_n.jpg

The point in farming, is not to think about how much you will earn at the end of each croping but just to have fun and to donate some of the blessing to your fellow farmers.11220059_10153844741876812_7520549367602955722_n.jpg
See....this is how fun farming is. :D
