Benefits of Being in the Sun!

Summer is in full swing! It can be tempting to stay inside to avoid the heat, but sunshine can be some of the best medicine!

Here are a few benefits from being in the sun:

  1. Increase your bone health!
    When you are in the sun, you are providing your body with Vitamin D. Vitamin D is necessary in order have absorb calcium in your body!

  2. It can help synchronize your circadian rhythm! This will lead to increased quality of sleep!

  3. Decreases depression!
    Have you ever felt down or blue during the winter time? This is most likely caused from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). So step out in the sun to increase your serotonin levels!

  4. Strengthens your Immune System!
    Being in the sun can activate your white blood cells, which are a key player in keeping you healthy!
