Everything You Need To Know About The Female Condoms
History
In the 20th Century by mid-eighties, there arose a concern about the transmission of STD (Sexually Transmitted diseases/STIs (Sexually Transmitted Infections), especially HIV. Because of this there was raised desire for an alternative condom that would give women more control so that they can take the lead. Lasse Hessel, a Danish inventor developed the first female condom which was given approval from the FDA after rigorous field testing in 1993. Polyurethane was used to make these condoms.
What exactly is a Female condom?
The female condom is a pouch which is used during sexual intercourse to prevent pregnancy and reduce the risk of sexually transmitted diseases just like a male condom does. It has flexible rings at each end. It is inserted deep into the vagina just before vaginal intercourse. The ring that is at the closed end of the condom holds the pouch in the vagina. The ring that is at the open end stays outside the vaginal opening during sexual intercourse.
How does it work?
These condoms collect pre-cum and semen when a man ejaculates and keeps the sperms from entering the vagina so that it cannot fertilize the egg. These condoms cover the inside of the vagina or anus and keep semen and pre-cum out, and thereby reduce the risk of STDs and STIs.
What are its Benefits?
It’s safe, simple, and convenient to use. Women and men like female condoms because of the following reasons.
1. They allow women to share responsibility for preventing infection.
2. They can be inserted by a partner as part of sex play.
3. They can also be used by people who are allergic to latex.
4. They do not require any prescription.
5. The external ring may stimulate the clitoris during intercourse so it can enhance the sex play.
How Is It Used?
1. Use a spermicide or a lubricant on the outside of the closed end. Find a comfortable position.
2. You can stand with one foot on the chair or you can simply sit on the edge of a chair or lie down.
3. Squeeze the sides of the inner ring at the closed end of the condom & insert it into the vagina just like a tampon is inserted.
4. Push the inner ring into the vagina until it reaches the cervix.
5. Pull out your finger and let the outer ring hang about an inch outside the vagina.
6. Enjoy!
