While I agree it is toxic, I have a more moderate policy about toxic products like this and cigarettes:
Sell them in a discount or even give them for free to someone whom either does not care, or you do not care about.
Great post and thanks for sharing a good recipe. I agree with you and think it's an important message. Especially to parents of young girls that are just beginning to use these items.
In addition to be so much better for you, natural products are so much more luxurious! Once you start there's no going back to the chemically laden stuff.
Thank you so much! I completely agree, we need to teach them young and protect them from these things at such a vital time in their life.
It's so true...you are getting such a higher quality item when you are using high quality ingredients...there is no going back!
Yes! My 11 year old uses a salt stick one but I am going to make this recipe instead, thank you @llfarms! My oldest (22) uses all the store bought stuff, I didn't know any better until a few years ago. You got that right about the FDA:(
I am a real health nerd and one thing I learned early on is that, as you rightly say, anything we put on our skin can get into our blood stream very quickly.
As it's not really as obvious as inhaling something that you instinctively know is bad for you I think it is something that not many people really think about.
The same goes for sun tan lotion, shampoo, hair spray, household cleaning products, etc.
I use a very simple recipe for my deodorant that I have used for years and it works amazingly well:
50% raw, organic coconut oil & 50% organic baking soda
Melt the coconut oil just enough to be able to stir in the baking soda and then mix.
Than let it cool. That's it!
I pour mine into silicone cake cases because I haven't got round to finding a suitable vessel like you have! :-)
I didn't realise that baking soda could have aluminium in it though so thank you for pointing that out!
Add dsound & Musicoin tracks and get more plays!

I completely agree! It's not really something we were taught to think about so many do not know. I think the is a change in the market happening but it's important for us to read labels...because even the "good" guys seem to be slipping things in lately! Thank you for sharing your recipe as well.
awesome post! I have my own independent skin care company- that began when I realized that just about everything in any shop that is suppose to be put on your skin.... is toxic! I find it completely confusing that people will read and write about "you are what you eat" or "dangerous chemicals in processed food".... yet they'll slather on sunscreen and deodorant daily and cover themselves in toxic perfumes and creams and sprays..... it literally boggles the mind!
d
Yes! There seems to be a disconnect there. To be honest when we decided to start clean eating, I didn't immediately think of our body care products...then I had that aha moment...I'm not sure why we are aware we should eat healthy but don't even think twice about what we put on our skin.
Thats amazing that you started your own line, good for you!! Feel free to drop a small link here so others can find it.
lol- here's my baby :D

Deodorants would burn my skin. I use talc powder also herbal thyme and a cotton. I will try this.
Have you heard of the think dirty app? You can scan store bought items and see what's all in them. Even the "organic" aisle deodorants get a C and D. But most deodorants are F. It's extremely helpful. I was looking at your etsy site to get some deodorant for us. What's infused olive oil?
I have but have not used it personally, I hear it's pretty useful though. Yes, I 100% agree..."organic" or "natural" does not mean good, We have to train ourselves to read the labels!
Gosh...I totally forget I have an estsy site...I should really spend some time updating it. The infused olive oil is just simply olive oil that I infuse with organic herbs. The herbs have natural healing and deodorizing properties. If you would like to try some just email me at [email protected] and I can give you a steemit discount 😉
Okay! I shall do that! 😊
This is really scary to know the harmful effects of deodorants.....I think deodorants are something which everyone uses without fail.....thanks for sharing the knowingly it's really helpful.
I ditched store-bought deodorant 3 years ago. It took about a week for my body to adjust. That was my stinkiest week ever. Haha! After making my own for about a year and a half, my recipe was just too abrasive and didn't withstand any heat at all...so it was usually melted. I didn't have beeswax or shea butter in it. I buy Young Living's deodorant and I love it! I never feel like I stink...mainly because now that my body can flush its toxins like it's supposed to it doesn't build up. I smell like a person. Not a flower shop. (Or a funeral home...take that however you want. Haha!)
I can't stand being behind the ladies that apparently bathe in feminine deodorant. Like...how bad does your hooha smell that you have to spray that much and why don't you just take a bath?!
Sorry, little rant there. Anyway, yes! Ditch the toxic deodorant! Thanks so much for sharing. :)
Hahahahaha I do the same! It's funny how after you cut those products out of your life you become so sensitive to the smells! It makes me nauseous. Thank you!
I´d buy your natural remedy if you sold it.
Hey there..I do make and sell my deodorant recipes for those that aren't quite ready to make their own. You can contact me at [email protected] to order. Thank you!
Whoa, really makes you think. Although the info is pretty insane, it is good to know.
I will now do this to all my deodorant:
I can't stop watching this...
Excellent info. I should make an #EHO seal of approval pic for posts like this.
