Thank you @ajdohmen! This was very much needed and I hope people read this. However, being in the science community, I know that there is a new "danger" to credibility of scientific writing, and that is "scientifically proven" products. Many cosmetic products and diets claim to be "scientifically proven" and there are PhD scientists who get paid to sign of a study they have never performed nor looked at. I think the best way to stay informed is to ditch the magazines and sensation media and actually look at research journals. People can just use "google scholar" and search for research published in their area of interest. Sorry, I am somewhat passionate about this as you may be able to tell. Hey, thanks for the support!
I've heard about the problem with scientists putting their names to drug company research. They make a lot of money doing it, too. I'm glad you brought it up! I never even thought to mention it!
