Owning Your Health With Vitamins
Health is wealth. That is a standard inarguable fact. Good health basically means less trip to the doctor's, less days spent at home, in bed all day when you could be working and making millions. Generally, less money spent on meds, consultation and maybe- surgeries. Another popular saying goes thus, 'prevention is better than cure' and it is for this reason that we keep getting several health tips- 'Eat your vegetables, take 6 litres of water a day, run 8 miles every week, take your vitamins' and the list is endless. Well, all of these are true and should be taken with the utmost importance- especially your Vitamins.
The importance of vitamins cannot possibly be over flogged as their health benefits are numerous. In fact, taking a lot of vitamins is one great way of being pro active about your health.
Vitamins are divided into categories. There are the fat soluble vitamins which are vitamins A, D, E, and K and the water soluble vitamins, vitamins B and C. All of these vitamins have their significant effects in the body system.
Vitamin B itself, has about 5 supplements which are B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6. Of course there are other B supplements like B4, B8, B16 and the likes but they are not vitamins. The B vitamins starting from B1 to B6, all have their respective uses.
B1 helps in steady energy supply and improvement of nerves and muscle function. B2 helps in Red Blood Cell production and maintenance of energy supply to the muscle. B3, metabolizes fats, glucose, alcohol and also reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the body's system. B5 oxidizes fatty acid, carbohydrate and facilitates formation of red blood cells, it also corrects function of adrenal glands. Lastly, B6 helps in red blood cell production, detoxification of liver, development of and proper functioning of brain and nervous system. Amazing isn't it? You would basically be building the perfect body with all of these.
Vitamin C, helps in blood circulation and also cures common cold. It can be gotten from meals like guava, broccoli, tuna, banana, salmon, kiwi fruits, mackerel and clams- just like other B vitamins.
Moving on to fat soluble vitamins, Vitamin A gives healthy teeth and helps in skeletal formation. Vitamin D, also known as the sunshine vitamin reduces incidents of fractured bones by a significant rate and slows down the progression of osteoporosis. Vitamin E on the other hand, balances cholesterol and prevents development of diseases while Vitamin K, helps in building strong bones and blood clotting.
Their sources are quite easy to get and are considerably affordable too. Just stick to your fish diet and greens and you are good to go.
Deficiencies of any of these vitamins could result in a number of downsides ranging from excessive bleeding, to easily fractured bones, canker sores, dry and cracked lips, blindness, light sensitivity, fatigue, low mood, indigestion, coordination difficulties, anemia and so much more.
