Remarkable Raw Puer Tea
A day after my T2D diagnosis, my wife sent me the following article...
Pu'er tea a wonder cure for diabetics
http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/cityguide/2009-05/27/content_7946549.htm
"The researchers carried out a test among 120 diabetic volunteers. They were asked to drink Pu'er regularly and stop their medicines, while making no change to their dietary habits. Seventy percent reported blood sugar levels lowered to below 7 mmol/L, with an average decrease of 35 percent."
That led me to try out some of the raw puer tea that I had tucked away...
The tea was from Hojo Tea
A week later I started this community page and posted this
https://www.facebook.com/myHbA1c/
300mg/dl (16.7 mmol) to 100mg/dl (5.5 mmol)
Subsequently I continued to order and try a variety of raw Puer Tea and had remarkable results with a number of them...The dragon ball from Jing Mai region.
Also effective and affordable is the Purple Bud Puer Tea from Cai Ceng Tea company.
2016 edition Purple Bud Puer Tea RMB 9.90 for 100g
Another remarkably effective raw puer tea from the #景谷 region。Close to 90mg drop within 90 mins like emoticon.#stopdiabetes #puertea #T2D #古树春茶 #黄草坝 #普洱茶 http://world.taobao.com/item/523994553011.htm?fromSite=main
From the Bing Dao region

The effective raw puer tea is able to bring post meal glucose down below 90mg within 2 hours from rather elevated levels. Whether such sharp fluctuation is actually helpful is debatable, but that it is so effective is remarkable.
There's many puer tea that have no effect...so do explore an try them out and find which one works best for you and though not a cure, it can perhaps help you maintain a healthy post-T2D-diagnosis medication free life.
Enjoy!

Notes: Most of the puer tea here are moderately priced between US$15-30 /kg. Given that each brew requires 5-8 grams of tea leaves...that is remarkably cost effective for glucose control.
Update Jan 2017:-
A year on my HbA1c remains at a stable 5.5%. I have since rely less on tea drinking for glucose control. The fact that strong tea induces hypoglycemia suggest that it may over stimulate insulin production. Given that T2D already has significant beta cells dysfunction and impairment, I concluded that it may be more beneficial to continue to manage glucose levels thru fats friendly diet/fasting.
