I've never tried grapefruit oil in water, and definitely won't now! Grapefruit seed extract is supposed to be very good for candida. But apparently tastes exceedingly nasty.
I can imagine it's probably rather bitter. Have you heard of Pau D'arco tea? That is what I have always suggested for candida. It looks a little odd because it's a bark from the tree, but it doesn't taste too bad and it does seem to make a difference.
Yes, we actually have some, and have been having it, though more as an immune booster.
