CALCIUM

in #health7 years ago (edited)

Good evening my fellow steemians, I would like to shear some interesting facts about calcium.
The popularly known calcium is one of the six classes if foods (fat and oil, protein, carbohydrate, mineral, water, and calcium). Calcium is a mineral that is an essential part of bones and teeth. The heart, nerve, and blood clotting system also needs calcium to function properly.

Our body system uses 99 percent of its calcium to keep the bones and teeth strong there by supporting skeletal structure and function. The rest of the calcium in our body plays key roles in cell signaling, blood clotting, muscles contractions and nerve function. Some studies suggest that calcium, along side with vitamin D, may have benefit beyond bone health; perhaps protection from cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Most times, people tend to over look the importance of a thing when the consequences are not known. What do you really think will happen to a person that neglects the importance of calcium to the health;
If your body doesn't get enough calcium and vitamin D to support important functions, it takes calcium from you bone mass. Losing bone mass makes inside of your bones weak and porous, this put you at risk for the bone disease known as osteoporosis.
Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and loss of bone tissue that may lead to weak and fragile bones. If you osteoporosis you have an increased risk of for fractured bones, particularly the hips, spine and waist.
