Rethink your drink
RETHINK YOUR DRINK!
HOW MUCH SUGAR IS THERE IN THAT?
Aim: To investigate how much sugar there is in our daily drinks.
Investigation question: Will fizzy drinks contain more sugar?
Hypothesis: I think that water wont have any sugar and that fizzy drinks, like coke, will have the most sugar.
Variables: Dependant variable-The amount of sugar.
Independent variable- The type of cool drink.
Controlled variable- The amount of each cool drink (ml)
Apparatus: Different cool drinks
Sugar
Small plastic bags
Method: 1. Collect different types of drinks.
- Find out the amount of sugar in each drink.
- Compare the results.
- Tabulate your answer.
- Draw a graph of how much sugar there is in each drink.
- Make a conclusion and evaluate your results.
Results: The drink with the most sugar is Mountain Dew (88g) and the drink with the least amount of sugar is water (0g)
Type of drink
Amount of sugar(g)
Coca-cola

Mountain dew

Monster energy drink

Red Bull

Conclusion : My hypothesis was accepted because the results indicate that fizzy drinks do contain more sugar. I learned from this experiment that water is always the healthiest choice because it’s the only drink that has no sugar.
Evaluation: I can use more different types of cool drinks to make my results more accurate.
According to the results I suggest that people should drink more healthier drinks like water and try to drink less fizzy drinks.
