New research prove the serious impact of pee inside the pool
Some people may think pee in the pool is not a big deal, because the ratio of the volume of urine to the water in the pond is too small. But recent research proves that the assumption is wrong.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently concluded the results of the study over the years. The study included 48 swimming pool attendants who had sore eyes and shortness of breath.
The officers working at Ohio Indoor Water Park reported complaints in 2015. A total of 12 of them were out of work, and 7 people had to seek medical help.
The investigation revealed that the material in the urine and dead skin cells from the pool visitors could react with chlorine. The result is a chemical substance that can irritate the eyes and interfere with breathing.
In the pool, chlorine is used as a cleanser. Reactions with nitrogen which, among other things contained in urine and sweat, may form chloramine. The more visitors pee in the pool, the more chlorine and the more irritating.
