Making Beet Juice. Natural Medicine. CHEERS!
Its about time we have tried making the Beet Juice, after thinking and saying we have to start drinking this amazing juice for like a year now.
And today was the day, I finally decided to make the beet juice, since I bought a bag of beets few days ago.
The reason we really wanted to start drinking beet juice is because of all the incredible health benefits this veggie has to offer plus I really like beets.
Jordan really wanted to start drinking this juice after learning all about it, but mostly because it enhances athletic performance.
I don't have a juicer, so we had used the blender which worked great.
First I peeled the beets, then I cut them into small pieces and put them in the blender.
You can add some water, orange juice, or what we used was some aloe vera juice.
You can also add oranges, or pineapple, or carrots but we wanted to see what it tastes like by itself.
After blending it for about 2 minutes, I used a strainer while pouring the juice into the glass.
It was really , really delicious.
Health Benefits OF BEET JUICE
Beets contain a high concentration of nitrates, which lower your blood pressure levels, which may lead to a reduced risk of heart disease and stroke.
Eating beets/ beet juice enhances athletic performance by improving oxygen use, balancing oxygen use, and increasing stamina and endurance.
Because beets contain pigments called betalains, which possess a number of anti-inflammatory properties, which helps in fighting inflammation
Improves digestive health because of good fiber source, which is linked to a reduced risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, colon cancer, and type 2 diabetes.
Supports brain health by containing nitrates, which increase blood flow to the brain.
Anti-cancer properties - beetroot contains several compounds with cancer-fighting properties, which include rutin, betaine, kaempferol, ferulic acid, and caffeic acid
Balances energy intake
Beetroot juice is one of the richest sources of antioxidants and naturally occurring nitrates which are compounds which improves blood flow throughout the body like the brain, muscles, and heart. These natural nitrates play a role in increasing nitric oxide, which helps open up the vessels and allows more oxygen flow and lower blood pressure.
