RE: I Quit Eating for 28 Days [Water Fast] : Day 6 (Parasites)

in #health7 years ago

I feel like 28 days fasting is too extreme for me but what I do is something called "intermittent fasting" and it has amazing health benefits as well as ability to drop weight fast.

I pretty much eat my daily 2500 calories is a span of 4 hours and the rest of the day im fasting, example(Eat from 1pm-5pm the amount of calories you need, then fast for 20 hours and start eating 1pm the next day).

Intermittent fasting is really good too! I'm not asking anyone to take on what I'm doing for sure 😂😂

I actually intend to revert to almost exactly your schedue of eating short of the fact that I start at 6pm to 10pm!

I'm sure you can see massive health benefits doing so! Also the time and money saver is pretty good too.

actually intermittent fasting has no inherent benefits to weight loss. everything regarding weight loss has to do with your daily caloric deficit. Intermittent fasting is just a tool to better stick to your diet.

Caloric intake(by the foods you eat and drink) < Calories burnt (by doing exercise, walking, sports. even by just sitting there doing nothing except breathing your body burns calories) = you lose weight.
Caloric intake > Calories burnt = you gain weight

The collective body of intermittent caloric restriction research demonstrates no significant advantage over daily caloric restriction for improving body composition.

While intermittent fasting appears to produce similar effects to continuous energy restriction to reduce body weight, fat mass, fat-free mass and improve glucose homeostasis, and may reduce appetite, it does not appear to attenuate other adaptive responses to energy restriction or improve weight loss efficiency, albeit most of the reviewed publications were not powered to assess these outcomes. Intermittent fasting thus represents a valid--albeit apparently not superior--option to continuous energy restriction for weight loss.

I too did not experience too much weight loss directly linked to Intermittent Fasting, however I do believe what i does do in regards to fat loss specifically is turning "White Adipose Tissue" into "Brown Adipose Tissue" due to the nature of your body requiring more consistent access to your fat stores for energy given that you go extended periods of time not eating.

In so doing, paired with a surplus of calories burned, it fat would be the go-to energy source making it then beneficial to burning "stubborn fat" which is clear "White Adipose Tissue".

Thank you for the insightful comment for all to understand further! I hope to see you around more often! 😁😁

You're drawing on outdated research. Fasting lowers insulin to absolute minimum levels, which prevents turning food into fat storage and turns your body's energy source to going to fat stores.
