Most of you probably have a certain way to clean your bathtub. You always use the same cleaning products and always end up with the same results. But what happens when you start to notice that your tub isn't as clean as you'd like?

Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to clean your bathtub, some of which you've possibly never thought to try. So if you're in need of a new cleaning method, check out our list, decide which one you want to try and get to work!

  1. Baking soda & vinegar (h/t Bob Vila)
You can almost always count on vinegar to clean just about anything and bathtubs are no exception. Sprinkle a thin layer of baking soda across the bottom of the tub and spray over it with a half-and-half solution of white vinegar and warm water. Let everything bubble for a few minutes and then scrub until it turns into a paste. Leave the paste to sit for about 15 minutes before rinsing out the tub.

  1. Shampoo (h/t Styled Staged & Sold)
If you have an acrylic bathtub, then you need to be careful to not scratch the surface with the use of harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning tools. Instead, pour a little baby shampoo on a damp rag and rub it in circles on the surface of the tub. Rinse the tub when you're finished.

  1. Pine-Sol (h/t Pine-Sol)
For a great clean that also smells fantastic, you need the power of Pine-Sol. Fill your bathtub with about 2 gallons of warm water and add 1/2 cup of Pine-Sol. Use either a sponge or scrub brush, dip it into the water and use it to scrub the sides and bottom of the tub.

  1. Dish soap (h/t One Good Thing)
Strange as it may seem, you can clean your bathtub with a broom. Start by squirting a generous amount of liquid dish soap all over in your bathtub. Sweep over the soap with your broom, which will work like a regular scrub brush to work the soap into the tub. Finish by rinsing out the tub with warm water.

ONE GOOD THING

  1. Magic Eraser (h/t Mr. Clean)
If you don't mind doing a bit of scrubbing, then a Magic Eraser is a great way to clean your bathtub, especially if you get one that's specially textured for use in the tub. Just wet the Eraser, squeeze it until bubbles start to form and then get to scrubbing.

  1. Castile soap & tea tree oil (h/t Fatherly)
For those of you with kids, you want to be careful what products you use to clean your bathtub. To give the tub a gentle clean that won't harm your kids, pour a little castile soap onto a damp sponge and scrub with it. You can also add a few drops of tea tree oil as protection against bacteria
