RE: Controversies in the health industry - the Banting diet phenomena, shrinks thousands of people to half their size!!!! (featuring @crazymuzysa as author)

I noticed you recommend a high intake of eggs in this diet, and would warn that if not adequately cooked, one can rapidly develop Biotin deficiency (an essential vitamin) due to a protein called Avidin found in egg whites. Generally, eggs should be cooked thoroughly for at least four minutes at 85 degrees Fahrenheit to fully inactivate its biotin-binding capability. (If nothing else just keep that in mind!) Most authorities on health and nutrition would also advise against eating more than one egg per day for cholesterol reasons.

One should be extremely careful following any fad diet though, as generally speaking they tend to ignore the long term physiological consequences in favor of short term results. Quiet simply, a balanced caloric intake that is below your daily caloric expenditure is the safest path to reaching your health goals, and the benefits of a healthy diet are far greater than those which incur the detrimental health effects of most, if not all, fad diets.

Probably the most important negative you listed:
"*Many in the health industry frown upon such a high protein diet and its long term effect on certain internal organs."
Said frowning is for good reason.
Be healthy and happy, not skinny and sick!
