Differences between guacamole and guasacaca
The gastronomic variety is infinite. Much more when it comes to Latin American food. Tomatoes, onions (in all their versions), avocados, cilantro, lemons and limes are found from Central America to southern Patagonia. Among some similar foods are guasacaca and guacamole.
They are eaten as companions of other dishes of greater preparation; but you really know what distinguishes them.
Guasacaca
It is a kind of salad that can work to accompany several dishes. Its preparation is composed of: tomato, onion, cilantro, garlic, parsley, pepper, avocado and a touch of lemon. This salad is used in South America to accompany the garnish of a barbecue or grill.
The roast is always accompanied by boiled or fried yucca and usually bathed with several spoonfuls of guasacaca. The preparation also serves to spread crunchy pieces of casabe (which is a kind of salty cracker made of ground and baked cassava). The guasacaca has a slightly more liquid version. It can be used as a sauce to accompany empanadas or hot dogs.
Guacamole
Its origin is undoubtedly Mexican and ancestral. They go back to when the Aztecs used the avocado to prepare a mole. This kind of preparation can accompany almost everything. Their recipes are endless because each region has a special touch. But the most common is made up of: avocado, onion, chile, cilantro, lemon juice and optionally you can add jalapeño. Once all the ingredients are together they must be processed until a creamy mixture is obtained. The guacamole goes hand in hand with the tacos or it can accompany some tortilla chips.
The guacamole and the guasacaca have similar ingredients and as protagonist the avocado. However, they are used in very different culinary contexts. Both provide a unique flavor in each dish .
If at some point you decide to experiment with a special touch, we recommend citrus fruits such as passion fruit. Use the pulp with the seed so that the guacamole has a surprise factor when finding the seeds in each bite. For guasacaca do not hesitate to use some mint leaves. It gives the salad an extra freshness for hot days.
