RE: Women and their Problems

in #health7 years ago

Your posts whatever they are related to are always informative like this one.
i would like to add few things regarding

Ectopic or tubal pregnancy is a rare complication in which the fertilized ovum or embryo becomes blocked in its passage through the Fallopian tube. There the embryo continues to grow as it normally would within the uterus. However, the space within the tube is too small to allow much expansion, so that soon the tube may rupture, causing a serious haemorrhage and also intense pain in the pelvis. This may resemble acute appendicitis. Surgery should be done as soon as a tubal pregnancy is suspected, preferably before haermorrhage occurs. One or two transfusions may be needed to replace the blood loss.

My views
(1) Ectopic and tubal pregnancy are not synonyms. Tubal pregnancy is a type of ectopic pregnancy.
(2), Surgery is not done in every case.If ectopic pregnancy is detected early, there is medical management also.

Thank you.

Oh..thanks doc!... For the insight and contribution. Of course not all ectopic pregnancies end up in surgery, that is for advanced nations. In underdeveloped states, cases like this always end up in surgery that is why you find people flying their loved ones abroad for treatment irrespective of the cost. Well, we all hope for the best and pray no woman, wife or sister of ours ever finds herself in such a situation.

Thanks again for stopping by!
