Important health benefits of changing our toothbrushes regularly
So, today I changed my toothbrush after using it for some time. (some minutes ago actually, lol) And since I am all for being creative, I thought why don't I share the importance of changing toothbrushes regularly to my amazing friends.
Tooth brushing is an important day-to-day hygiene we must all inculcate. Regular brushing helps in removing debris from your teeth and prevents the buildup of tartar and plaque.
It is generally recommended we change our toothbrush every 3-4 months. As we all know, toothbrush harbors microorganism that could cause oral infection. And changing the toothbrush is one of those methods to reduce the level of these bacteria.
Reasons to change your brushes regularly.
If you've been ill
If you've been ill for some time, then you need to change your toothbrush. Reinfection can occur as a result of the bacteria and viruses in your brush if you do not change out your brush after you've been sick. Always make sure you change your toothbrush after a cold or flu and replace it with a new one.
Bacteria and viruses
As mentioned earlier, toothbrushes harbor bacteria. To prevent this from happening, it is advised to always rinse your toothbrush after use thoroughly and let it air dry. You can also prevent it from bacteria by not storing it in plaves where it could easily get contaminated.
When the toothbrush wears out
After using it for a long time, it wears out the bristles of your toothbrush. Hence, it is advisable to change it at this period. Because it won't be effective at removing plaque from your teeth and gums.

Also, if your toothbrush starts to wear out or becoming dirty then it is time to change it.
You should know when to change your toothbrush. Although a general guideline of three months is agreed upon by most dental health experts.
Our oral hygiene is important. So, be like me and change that brush now.
