How I cured my stomach without taking the doctors advice
Hi Friends,
I want to tell you all a story of how I started having severe stomach problems around January 2017 and how I resolved the issue without listening to my doctor. Don't get me wrong. I have an amazing doctor, but he is bound to a two dimensional way of using pharmaceutical to drugs to mask an issue.
It all started with pain during a business trip. I couldn't even speak on the way back home. The pain was intolerable. Soon after, I started getting upset stomach no matter what I ate. Even simple things like salad would send me to the bathroom. If I wasn't going to the bathroom, I would be severely constipated for three days straight.
It's now March and the problem hasn't gone away. My beautiful wife of 8 years forces me to go to my doctor. I do. He sends me to get an ultrasound, urine/feces test, blood test, and prescribes something for my constipation. Now, when I looked up what he prescribed, I realize it was medication for people who have severe IBS. Not knowing if that's what I have, I decided to hold off on a medication with severe symptoms.
All my tests came back normal. My doctor just wanted to put me on more drugs. I wasn't going to let him control my life so I started taking matters into my own hands.
A little about me and my lifestyle:
- I am 31 years old
- I have a stressful and successful director position at a very good agency
- I eat very well (90%+ organic with lots of fruits and vegetables)
- I am deeply in love with my wife. We got married very young at 23
- I live in the center of one of the most expensive cities in the world (Vancouver British Columbia Canada)
- I work with data and test different results for better conversion. This just means I test ideas to increase revenue
- I take very good multivitamins
- I exercise
How I changed my lifestyle to help with my stomach issue(s):
- I stopped eating bread and rice.
- I stopped eating seafood
- I slowed down at work and spent more time with my wife
- I started eating less meat and when I ate meat, I made sure it was not an extravagant amount
- I started taking probiotics religiously
- I stopped drinking coffee and just stuck with black/green tea
- I stopped to enjoy my gorgeous view
- I started thanking God and the universe for what I have and apologized for anything that I've done to hurt myself and others. I did this everyday. I am not religious, but I felt the need to do it
- I stopped caring about things I shouldn't
Lone be hold, my stomach started getting better. Not by a little, but a lot. I felt like everything was coming back to normal.
Now, it could be anything from that list, which solved the issue so I started testing. I started eating more rice, more meat, and seafood again.
You know what was left? Stress, stopping to smell the roses, spending more time with my wife, and of course probiotics :)
There you have it. There is a very high chance that this was all stress related.
Tell me, did any of you experience something like I did? Did you resolve the issue? Do you have questions for me?
What was the diagnosis ? , what was the problem,
To be sure the root cause was actually resolved not the symptoms. Avoiding re-occurrence.
When fill stressed, body drops the net of white blood cells, to lock and contain problem in that specific area
Changing diet to "clean" gives body the "lubricating engine performance oil"
Therefore increase recovery time, also slowing down at work will help reduce complexity "less processes one time".
Thank you for replying. The assumption was made that I might have IBS. I am not so sure I did. I only had upset stomach and constipation.
It has now been 4 months and none of my symptoms are present. Unless IBS symptoms come and go, I would say that I am ok.
