Katy weighed 17 stone 3lbs (243 pounds). She explains how she tried various approaches to losing weight, including; Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, working with nutritionists and personal trainers. However, she explains how once she ditched one simple food she was able to lose weight effortlessly.

How did Katy lose the weight?

A big change Katy made to lose the weight was; she cut out sodas.

Katy knew sodas were not the best for her health and therefore decided to stop drinking them, going cold turkey. She explains how after two weeks she felt better.

By simply eliminating soda and cooking healthy meals Katy lost 10 pounds.

Is Weight Loss That Simple?

Losing weight can be as simple as cutting out sodas. This because what many people often do not know or pay attention to, is the amount of sugar that is in a bottle or can of soda.

For example, in one 330ml can of Cocola, there is 35g sugar.

The American Heart Association recommends women eat no more than 100 calories per day of sugar (six teaspoons or 20 grams) and no more than 150 calories per day for men (or about nine teaspoons or 36 grams).

You can see that one 330ml can of Cocola has over the recommended amount of sugar for women. Therefore, for someone such as Katy who consumes more than one can a day, including other foods which may include sugar the amount of sugar and calories continue to increase.

We all know the health risks that came with a diet high in sugar, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer, infertility. Therefore, reducing the amount of sugar you consume is crucial for your overall health and well-being.

It is important to note here that while eliminating sodas from your diet can help tremendously with weight loss and is also highly recommended that you do not just for weight loss purpose, but also for health reasons, this is not the only sole reason for why Katy lost over 75 pounds.

She explains while studying and working her diet and lifestyle had suffered. Katy was eating fast food on campus, never exercising, not getting enough sleep, drinking tons of coffee and soda for energy boosts, and was always stressed. Katy's diet and lifestyle are common in the Western Society.

When your diet and lifestyle is not healthy to begin with, making simple changes such as eliminating sodas and eating healthy will make significant changes to your weight. Weight loss can occur with generally no effort at all.
