Avoiding Temptation and reaching the goal!

Temptation, the urges for short term enjoyment. I say it's a false feeling of fulfillment. One of the major reasons we go with the feeling of temptation is the lack of self-control. It can be a diet, it can be any physical need. I also include the urge to celebrating our success before we are actually successful.

But, do you ever thought that temptation can be a great barrier to reaching our goal. Like I said earlier, we go for short term goals to celebrate it rather with long term vision. These sometimes make us less beneficial at the end of the day. And, I'm not talking about any financial or carrier thing, it can be very personal like a relationship or personal development. So, how can we avoid temptation?

  • Self-control is the biggest thing that can help us to take over temptation. There are many ways to increase self-control. We can also practice yoga, meditation or different management technique to control ourselves.

  • Positive destruction can be another great tool. Like, if you don't want to over-eat, drink a lot of water instead. It's just an example. We have to find other ways to distract our minds to not feel the urge.

  • Think twice and evaluate. Try to change the way you behave with temptation. Like if you want to have a cup of ice cream, try to think about your diet, your weight, and your diet plan. Also, evaluating our current situation can help a lot.

You can try to neutralize most temptation by exerting self-control, but it’s not always easy. In many research, it shows that avoiding temptation help us reach long term goal So, have a look at your life plan, what you are doing and what you need to do. And, practicing those things can really help, I believe.
