Fidget spinners! The new trend that has overwhelmed the world

in #health7 years ago

This season's hottest toy is marketed as an antidote for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety and autism— but it's also being banned in classrooms across the country."Fidget spinners"are actually  small devices, smaller than our palm, which are made up of two parts. A central stand that you hold with your index finger and thumb and a spinning spindle that turns very quickly when you press the base button. Of course what makes fidget spinners special is that you can find them in market in different designs and colors (with blue color more popular).

A new trend is born

While other games that had been blown away earlier, focusing mainly on being collectible, or putting you in the "hole" of competition with others, fidget spinners have another tactic. In particular, what their owners love is the way they "swing" on their finger and not only. The fidget spinner can be placed on the front, the nose, while the more daring do not hesitate to throw it away (as the propeller turns) and catch it in the air.

The dominant trend in the world game for 2017, no doubt, is the spinner. From the 20 best selling games on Amazon the 15 are fidget spinners. It still makes it as popular as the hula when it first appeared in America in 1958 - in only a few months, 25 million pieces have been sold! Its presence on the Internet, just as dynamic: 590,000 appearances in 9 months, had a videotape with the spinner game uploaded by YouTuber Sam KenKnight. The "community" of figdet spinners, launched in November 16 by Redditor xMinti, until April 17 had 10,000 subscribers.

Although it has been accused of being addictive, leading many schools to ban, it is believed to help reduce pressure. The summer supporters of the merchants include - saying that the fidget spinner has health benefits: soothes the illness, post-traumatic dysfunctions, attention distortion but also hyperactivity. It has also been known to be used by teachers for children with special needs and has sedative properties for autistic patients. Scientists, however, are turning to the benefits of the game as a means of concentrating attention as a treatment for sufferers of autism or attention deficit syndrome. In any case, simple logic leads us to think that this game manages to mind the mind, which would otherwise travel to scattered destinations or be overwhelmed by toxic thoughts.

Another theory claims that body movements are part of the process of thinking and expression - it does not help smudge a paper while you think or record what you remember? Finally, there are those who believe that holding your hands with a spinner is something like a "rite", which relieves the prediction of evolution.

Their inventor lost the patent

While the fidget spinner drives into a craze all over the world in 2017, the woman who invented fidget has difficulty overtaking them. When the American chemist-engineer Catherine A. Hettinger found herself in Israel in 1993, she wanted to make a peaceful play that would excite children's energy. The "puzzling toy" patent was patented on January 7, 1997. Instead of enjoying the "great life" today from the ten millions of fidget spinner sales, 62-year-old Catherine from Florida is not winning anything. The reason; Shee retained the patent for eight years, but handed it over in 2005, as she was unable to pay the $ 400 for renewal. "I did not have that money," she says simply. As manufacturers and traders accumulate huge profits, she moved to an even smaller and more economical appartment and wonders if she can reconnect to her cut-off telephone line. "It's a real challenge to be an inventor," she confesses in an interview with the Guardian. "Only 3% of inventions brings money. If I had managed to keep the patent, I would now sit on a fortune. It does not bring me bitterness, however, the missed opportunity. I'm probably encouraged by the spinner's sudden success, knowing that so many people understand and do good. The only thing I regret is that ''if I I had the money now, I would make more inventions. "
