Clash in the same place is there permanent damage?| Thu Oct 18 2018 05:50:19 GMT+0700 (WIB)
Someone asked me
I'm a 28-year-old woman. When I was 8 years old my right hand was broken. My hand has healed normally and according to x-ray the bone is straight.
Then at the age of 22 my right hand was hit by a speeding motorbike. Not until 5 minutes immediately swollen and reddish. It takes more than 1 month to bleed to disappear completely. The place hit is approximately the same as the position of bone fracture.
Since the second incident, I felt my right hand was more sensitive or easier to feel pain if gripped or pressed from the left hand. If it is massaged it is also easier to appear small bruises. But there is no problem in terms of movement or lifting weights.
My question is does this mean there is a damaged part of my right hand? If it's possible yes, what should I go to the doctor?
thanks.
Answer from me
Repeated injury does not mean it will cause permanent damage. Repeated injuries at the same place tend to cause the surrounding bones and supporting tissues to be not as solid as before.
It is normal if you feel your right hand becomes more sensitive, because repeated trauma especially in the same place will cause scars / damage. This damage allows for the surrounding nerves. Nerve injury causes parts that experience repeated trauma will more easily receive pain stimulation compared to normal body parts / not experienced previous trauma.
As long as the movement function is still good, you don't need to worry. Muscle and nerve injury is quite often felt in someone with a history of trauma, this will gradually improve on its own and takes a long time.
To reduce your complaints, you can do the following tips:
Avoid yourself from heavy activities
Reduce the habit of lifting heavy loads
Do not massage / massage in the affected part
If pain, can be considered for taking pain medication
Vitamin B12 supplements are highly recommended for maintaining a healthy nervous system
Due to a history of fractures and disturbances in surrounding tissues, you can consult further along with a complete examination to an orthopedic specialist. If complaints become more severe, don't hesitate to visit your nearest doctor. All the information that I can convey, hopefully help
