HayStak the Raper????
Last month, local rapper and Eminem hater Haystak (real name Jason Winfree) was arrested for intent to commit sexual abuse during a concert in Iowa. He got out of jail yesterday.
The website Hard Knox Independent reports:
Legendary Tennessee rap artist Haystak was freed Wednesday from a Kansas City, Mo., jail cell after spending nearly four weeks behind bars, but his legal woes may be far from over, authorities say.
Haystak, 41, faces a felony charge of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse for allegedly trying to molest a woman at a concert in Iowa last month, according to police.
Despite the potential seriousness of the charge (he could face up to five years in prison if convicted) he intends to fight the allegations “tooth and nail,” according to his manager, Shawn Nunes of the entertainment company Global Alliance.
The arrest and prison time was confirmed earlier this month on the rapper's Facebook page.
This isn't Winfree's first brush with the law. He caught a statutory rape charge in 2004. And in 2006 he was charged with rape and convicted of assault and fear of bodily injury and was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days of supervised probation. And as recently as May of this year he was also charged with domestic assault.
