Harry Potter Train Ride - Scotland (beautiful scenery)

If you every plan a trip to Scotland (and you have a Harry Potter fan amongst you), then there are two places you can vist.

Jacobite Steam Train (from Fort William to Mallaig)
You will recognise this Hogwarts Express train and journey from the film.

• 2 hours each-way.
• 1.5 hours in Mallaig before returning back to Fort William.
• As you cross over the Glenfinnan Viaduct (bridge) you will realize exactly where you are. (photo above).
• 2 services per day (morning and afternon).
• Only operates during certain seasons of the year (so please check the link below).

• Tickets range from £35 to £60 (round-trip) adults, and £20 to £32 (round-trip) children (12 years old, or under).

Fort William, (the starting point of the journey) is a beatutiful mountainous Scottish area in the Scottish Highlands.
You could do a 1.5 hour side-trip (by car) to the infamous Loch Ness.

Glasgow University.
Not exactly the real location where Harry Potter was filmed, BUT they modelled Hogwarts School of magic on the Glasgow Univirsity main building.

You are allowed to walk freely through the university grounds and explore.
