Unemployment is very deep, firstly the family looks at you in a certain way and they will make you feel it when the siblings or cousins who have "made it" come around.
You have no say in family matters coz you don't bring in anything even your nieces and nephews don't respect you, friends don't even check on you coz you're that "jobless friend" that's always asking for a favour.
For a guy naturally you're a provider and if you can't that kills you slowly inside, the feeling of inadequacy and also you lose your dignity too
It gets bad for a girl when you can't even afford toiletries or even your sanitary pads, the shame of having to go to your mother after she put you through school to ask for those things💔 even having no one to ask for assistance because you get bluetick or ignored.
There's nothing nice about that because each and every month comes with stress, than when you finally get that interview you don't have proper clothes to wear and sometimes you can't even go to that interview coz you don't have money. You've used up all your friends favours.
People don't understand how deep this thing is some even make comments like "you not looking hard enough" or "you are just lazy" not knowing that being unemployed is emotionally and physically draining.
Help your unemployed friend where you can I can assure you he/she will never forget you, even if they do, God won't. Touching albeit very true. Most often we forget that being unemployed doesn't mean u will not be employed tomorrow. That moment of your life when you don't have remains a very trying one and being am employed friend or someone who has more than ur unemployed friend I think it is only nice and ideas that we once in a while reach out to your friend or brother. Doing that is showing love in a way that will never be forgotten.
There's one thing about struggle or poverty, it is a great teacher.
