Two structures of modern hard drives are often seen. 3.5 inches and 2.5 inches The 3.5-inch drive is available for the desktop and 2.5 inches on the laptop. Hard drives are connected by standard interface cable such as a warranty , sata , USB or serial attached SCSI cable. Early hard discs were removable media, but current hard disks are usually bound in metal boxes.

According to the 2015 data, the hard drive's main competitive technology is the flash memory that comes with Solid State Drive (SSD) technology. They have high speed data transfer capability and high reliability . And their latency time and access time less. However, hard drives are still low prices and the efficiency of the device's storage capacity has become dominant as a secondary data storage system. Again, SSDs, where speed, power utilization and stability are important, are considered first.
