How do you feel happier just two minutes a day
To devote two minutes to look at something from the environment is enough to be happier, says study. "To stop smell the flowers" and to pay attention to any of the surrounding nature really works, scientists are convinced.
When you see a bird, home plant, dandelion side of the road or just the sun that shines through the window, it increases feelings of happiness and well-being. People surveyed photographed what they saw and recorded their feelings.
"It's not for hours outside or picnics - says Holly Ann Pasmor, lead author of the study - it is a tree at the bus stop in the city and the positive effect that a tree can have on people."
The study involved 395 people divided into two groups - both should be seen and photographed natural sites and others - objects made by man. Both were compared with a control group that had no watch and photograph anything. As might be expected, the group photographed natural sites, reports and most happy moments.
"The difference in the welfare of the participants - their happiness, a sense of enthusiasm and degree of connectivity with others, not just with nature - was considerably higher" - notes Pasmor. As confirmations and previous studies, people pay attention to nature, also feel more connected to her and other people in general.
Study participants also share more prosocial attitudes: they are more willing to help others and contribute to the community.
