Halloween or Hallowe'en
also known as Allhalloween
Is a celebration observed in a number of countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day.
This time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, also including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed!
It is widely believed that many Halloween traditions originated from ancient Celtic harvest festivals, particularly the Gaelic festival Samhain *.
Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising), attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror films. In many parts of the world, the Christian religious observances of All Hallows' Eve, including attending church services and lighting candles on the graves of the dead, remain popular,
*Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter or the "darker half" of the year. Traditionally, it is celebrated from 31 October to 1 November, as the Celtic day began and ended at sunset.
If ask my opinion i think all bit weird but quite funny when walk in shop and women is dressed as witch and guy next to her in zombie outfit with beating heart in LED!...
I went to Derry in Ireland few years back and they have fire works over the river and everyone goes all out, few great ones where little britian style guys with wheel chair and ghost floating round on skates (looked real good)
