Weave Hair Extensions – The Benefits and Considerations

 Hair extensions come in many types and styles. From the look, feel and color of the hair, each is quite vibrant and diverse and offers quite a bit of style to the person wearing them. Hair extensions are much like natural hair, allowing one to straighten, curl and blow dry them as they please. One may even apply normal hair products as they do currently. Certain synthetic hair extensions however cannot be dyed due to intolerance for ammonia or bleach. Synthetic hair also cannot be styled as flexibly because they may be damaged due to the heat of certain styling tools. That being said, there are an abundance of hair extension options available. 

One might wonder the many types of hair extensions they may apply. With a lot of variety available, it does seem natural to try and explore each of the options. Among the most commonly used type of hair extensions is weave or sew-in hair extensions. Weave hair extensions are essentially applied by braiding the natural hair into cornrows first, then using a needle and thread to sew the weave into the braid or cornrow.  

Typically, these types of hair are better suited for people with thicker hair as lighter hair is usually unable to handle the sewing of the weave. The tight application may also result in damaging of thin hair. Unlike some other options, these types of hair extensions will quite certainly require a professional to apply them. The level of technicalities involved can result in a difficult application that most people are unable to do on their own.  

Remaining a popular form of hair extensions, weave is a permanent option that seamlessly blends into real hair and becomes almost indiscernible. Thus, it is a much appreciated option for people who want a more permanent style but less so by people who wish to keep changing their style based on the occasion or moment. However, even then, it should be checked and removed after a period of 4 months. 

That said, if one does opt for weave hair extensions, they need to be cautious of all the involved requirements alongside the benefits. They do need to be changed every so often otherwise one’s normal hair’s development may be impeded. Furthermore, one will require a professional’s assistance in applying them as stated above. However, aside from these, the advantages they offer are truly worth considering too.
