When I was a redhead
Dyeing ones own hair requires caution. I had to learn that the hard way as bleaching agents can really dry out your hair and cause a plethora of issues (split ends, can alter the texture, uv rays can worsen the damage)
....................................................................................but at least the results were not to disastrous :D
If you like this look, then you can try this at home if you desire:
You shall need ----> Hair bleach, some hydrogen peroxide and red dye (the red dye I used was a wash which means it was not permanent)
I did not mind trying this out as my hair grows relatively fast so in the not so rare chance I might mess up, I can just cut it off and grow some new hair. So if you treasure your hair and your hair does not grow fast, I don't recommend doing this specific technique.
Step 1: apply hair bleach to hair, let it sit as recommended on box/package. I let mine sit for about 20 mins.
Step 2: Rinse it out
Step 3: Apply red hair dye. The one I used was a liquid cherry smelling red dye
Results:
My hair looked nice initially. The orange ish color you see in my hair are spots I sort of missed when applying the red dye so my hair ended up looking like a scarlet sunset rather than the firetruck red I was anticipating.
My hair was also significantly thinner, drier and just overall more fragile.
The plus was that it smelled like cherries XD
THENNN IT RAINED on my way to work and I WORE A WHITE SHIRT......
basically some of my red dye washed off a bit onto my white shirt. Temporary hair dyes usually do this. It looked like I sort of got massacred when I entered my workplace and my boss looked at me with horror (That was amusing).
Thankfully, the white shirt I wore was salvaged as this particular red dye was easy to wash off (washing machines are a miraculous invention) and my boss was relieved to know my shirt was just hair dye and not blood.
