Santander Bank oblige to pay the money stolen by a hacker

in #hacker8 years ago

The Banco Santander has been sentenced to return more than 55,000 euros  to a client who stole that amount from your account through a computer  virus. The Court of First Instance number 48 of Madrid considers who  should ensure the security of access to the account of the client was  the bank itself and not the user.

The court considers in full the petition the applicant, which exempts  from liability, since it was the bank that “had and have the necessary  means to detect and prevent” a possible attack with  software  which might affect the current account.

This is explained by the judge in a judgment to which I had access  Efe   and which it certifies its decision based on the reports of the  experts, who noted that while the computer was “not in perfect  condition” was “difficult” that the client might suspect the existence  of the virus, called Citadel.

According to the National Institute of cybersecurity, this  malware   is an enhanced version of the largest mobile cyber threat version, the  family of trojans electronic banking Zeus, designed to steal personal  information from their victims.
