"Wake up and get on your phone !! xcoins.io is hacked..." The desperate alert posted into one of the many groups of xcoins lender groups this morning embodies the concerns of hundreds of platform users. Early this morning at around 6:00 AM (EST) bitcoin accounts on the xCoins platform began to drain into an external bitcoin wallet.

Not long following this shocking discovery, platform users began to notice that their US bank accounts had also been compromised. The total amount of funds stolen in this morning's breach is yet to be fully discovered.
A source familiar with the matter has relayed the following communication from the founder of xCoins.io:
"Something did happen. We are looking into it now... Please [let everyone know] that no one will lose their bitcoin, so people do not worry. We will take care of it."
Further communications from the administrators of the platform indicate that an investigation is underway and all stolen funds will be restored. In an attempt to stifle the losses of bitcoins, access to the platform was suspended at roughly 10:00 AM (EST) this morning and is expected to be restored shortly, following the collection of evidence and necessary security patching.
William Thompson, the founder of ResoNova Financial Partners with an extensive background in cyber security and military intelligence, expressed concerns regarding the xCoins platform security measures back in November of this year.
"While using the [xCoins] platform I noticed signs of large scale social engineering being performed. I didn't have access to enough information to validate my suspicions ...Users often exchange a lot of personal information during the transaction process. This information exchange could be coupled with various phishing attempts spread out over several months and would ultimately provide attackers with all the information necessary to hit the platform hard. It is imperative that all current and former users of the xCoins platform take time to set new and unique passwords on all of their email accounts, bank accounts, bitcoin wallets, shopping accounts, etc as the lists of extracted username/email/password information is likely to be used again in future cyber attacks on various sites often used by the cryptocurrency community."
William has been working with various users of the platform to assemble as much information on the attack as possible. The IP address used by the hacker was 208.93.27.31 which leads to an office building in Sunnyvale, California.

Many other efforts are currently under way to gather information about the hacker or group of hackers who carried out this morning's attack. William has asked that any individuals with information about the incident connect with him via Telegram messenger here: https://telegram.me/willinspire
