Can I have one of those hard forks too?

I joined Steemit just today, but my experience has been less than stellar. I had the misfortune to join just after the hack. The site seemed to be working, and I was very interested in the market rewarding liquidity providers. I've built trading bots for other exchanges that essentially provide liquidity, but make a small amount on the spread. I thought it would be a perfect match for me and wanted to get started immediately.

I decided to jump in. I made a deposit for STEEM through this site's deposit page for 1BTC then started to dig into finding the API for trading... Then the site logged me out. Then it wouldn't let me log in. Then I started to panic.

Then the site went into read only mode. I'm now having flashbacks to gox...

What should I do? Can the transaction be re-broadcast? Does this require another Hard Fork to fix?
Did I just loose a BTC for nothing? Did I just get Goxxed again god damnit?

EDIT: My faith in humanity has been restored! 162.316 steem transfered to my account!
Now I'm gonna get that trading bot going...
