After many hours in the oven curing and gather parts I was finally able put everything together. Topped it off with an Eothech and Magpul Pro rear sight. This has to be my favorite project to date, really great set up and a blast to shoot. Feel free to ask any questions in comments.
looks great, which finish is it and is the idea that whatever you coat it with will no longer be subject to rust?
I use KG Gunkote, and yes it is more or less rust proof and totally solvent proof. I highly recommend it for anything Remington.

It's not at all, I am not sure what kind of blueing they use, but it's worthless. I've worked on a few 870s that had a lot of surface rust from finger prints.
I left my 1187 in the trunk overnight once and it was a mess.
I bet, this is the worst one I have worked on. Nothing I could do for it, except blast it and seal it.
