How to spot Fake Gucci Tshirt
All we want it, but how we can be sure that really buy original Tshirt?!🤔
Here are useful tips.
Gucci T-Shirt Materials & Construction
When evaluating a Gucci T-shirt for its authenticity, note that Gucci exclusively uses cotton to create their T-shirts. “While embellishments may be metal, leather, synthetic or a variety of other materials, a Gucci T-shirt that is not made of 100% cotton is a red flag,” notes Wetzbarger.
If a Gucci T-shirt does feature appliqués, pay close attention to the details. “Make sure they are finely detailed and sewn to the shirt with matching thread,” says Wetzbarger. “Iron-ons, glue or invisible thread are signs of a fake.”
Gucci T-Shirt Brand Identifiers
Gucci’s iconic interlocking GG insignia is an essential part of the brand’s identity, and a key point to reference when spotting fakes. “On the print, whether it be the ‘Vintage Logo’ graphic, an Angelica Hicks illustration or another design, there should be no bleeding between colors,” explains Wetzbarger. “And the letters should be crisp, not blurry or pixelated.”
With Alessandro Michele-era clothing, the once-black Gucci tag now features an updated color palette, feel and look. “The Gucci brand tag should be a cream ribbed jacquard with a clean back, affixed by red stitching at the corners,” says Wetzbarger. The back of the tag should not be covered or obscured, which is common with fakes, but should be the reverse side of the jacquard. “It’s also good to keep in mind that collaborations may feature tags in different colors, such as the Gucci Ghost collaboration, which includes a blue jacquard tag,” adds Wetzbarger.
At the interior side seam of a real T-shirt, you’ll find a country of origin and fabrication tag with multiple pages. “This should include the style and art numbers, which will be featured along the bottom of one of the tags,” notes Wetzbarger.
