Grumpycat Attack and the Collateral Damage
HELLO STEMIANS
After I posted an article 3 days ago about grumpycats making a difference post, I receive several inquiries and opinions about it, there are also some haters and some are angry at me too. I understand where this people are coming from because they were affected by Grumpycay attack.
COLLATERAL DAMAGE
I truly understand that this attack by grumpycat almost 2 weeks ago has affected many users even low or high quality post, I have many friends that were hit by this and similar to others, they have shown their frustration and anger.
In my view, I look at this as part of Collateral Damage, in any changes that we do whether in personal life, professional, in the government or in any where, there will always be something or someone that will be affected. In a police operations or at war, there are innocent people that were affected and some get killed and even though I know that it is painful and hard, I understand that these are all part of Collateral Damage.
Change is always tough because this means that it may not be favorable to others but All of these is for the betterment of the many. We must understand that Grumpycats quest for the good of steemit has made positive and great result, bidbots made lots of changes in their rule and abide by what Grumpycat had set in upvoting bid rewards.
I am not here to defend @grumpycat nor shout out to everyone that Im in favor of him,but similar to him, I'm just an advocate of the true essence of this great platform. I believe that
we should be rewarding the best people who made a lot of efffort in creating their post and showcasing ther talent and skills.
In the past, I am also guilty of creating low quality post and benefitted from those bidbots, but I realized that even if I make a high quality post, I still uses bidbots to earn more rewards, however, I dont want to see myself relying or depending to much in these bidbots, I want to work hard and improve my craft and gets rewarded for my hardwork, isn't it the best feeling in the world? Its like getting awards for your best performance or getting promoted at work.
For sure I will still use bitbots once in a while but will not be a fanatic of it. I would rather show up my skill, work harder and spread the true essence of Steemit.
To @grumpycat, thank you for your great work and your effort in making this platform a better form of social media in the world. I am with you in these changes you set and will be an advocate on what is right. I will stand by you in your true commitment in ensuring the best for this platform.

@mikel2la1 - This is the great food for thought on Grumpycat matter. I am totally agreed with your word that "we should be rewarding the best people who made a lot of efffort in creating their post and showcasing ther talent and skills".
Thanks for your post.
Thank you.. I just thought that we should do the right thing.
:-)
@mikel2la1,
@grumpycat should also have my support if he would pick the target as real abusers, milkers or spammers.
Instead he is flagging fresh posts regardless of quality of content.
Let's stop calling the victims "colletaral damage", they are real people trying to achieve something here.
What I resist is not the cause of @grumpycat. I fight with the methods he is doing this.
I have a question in mind :
Do you really agree with his methods or is this post especially written for @grumpycat to see and upvote?
FD.
correct @grumpycat total piece of shit. I asked him to clarify his whole system so people could comply and he intentionally did not to. It is becoming evident this is some larger anticomeptitive scam to either turn people off and depress prices so he can manipulate the market and/or some false flag to achieve the opposite of his stated goals of helping to community but instead actively trying to subterfuge steem platform.
Hi buddy, 2 things that grumpycat is doing,
1.for bidding bitbot - which is I really agree so we can filter the quality of post. Flagging the users will prevent them from using bidbots not doing what is right. I know it affected many users.
I agree doing what is right. I send this over so he would see that I am after his right doing so maybe he realized that he is making an impact to this community and do the right things always.
Dont get me wrong buddy.. Im a believer of this platform. I am not going to discuss this matter anymore with any of my post but instead create and learn to make high quality post.
No, please do not stop discussing matter...
I just wanted to be sure these are your true ideas, not something you wrote to butter and easy cash.
Even if it is so, this is also in steemit platform.
Your post is somehow opportunistic but not junk.
Please feel free to write on whatever you like.
FD.
This is my true idea and not to get cash... Ive been working hard to all of my post.
Very well said! When I read "collateral damage" I felt disgusted, even thought this was a @grumpycat posts and was ready to call him/her a sociopath. I will always remember that day that I post about GrumpyStupidCat fighting back and won! Only thing he could do after that was leaving a stupid picture in my post:
@grumpycat uses bidbots himself and always update his stupid comments. Pretty sure he/she is just a very sad person with lots of money in Steem power, nothing else.
As far as the comments made to me, I understand that when you downvote someone, you make the rewards turn back to the pool.
Then when you upvote yourself heavily you take more rewards that you should...This may be the motivation of his actions.
Being sociopath may not be the correct explanation.
Don't take my comment as truth yet because I am investigating this economy issue deeper to be sure it works this way.
FD.
Even worse. At the end of the day this is what decentralization means. He can keep doing that and all we can do is watch or join together and flag him, but that is a fight that we will lose because he has many big whale friends that will flag us back. After my post about him, my post after that one got flag again and I know it was on purpose to pissed me off but I just ignore him and stop using the bid bots that he claimed were the caused of the flags. Maybe one day Whales wont have such authority and it will be a bit fairer for all of us. It sucks to get $50,$200,$300 take back from a post just because.
And if it another way of making more money than this platform will lose all that is stands for with money taking over minds of people like these and making them go mad. But I will anyway stand with it because I believe in this platform and vision and the reason it stands for and also not use this bot.
Also if somebody writes a good post and uses bid-bots and invest their money to make their posts more visible and also get more followers I do not find anything wrong here. I want to write and help people through my writing and also make money but is not economy an important thing and is necessary to spread good work of art.
I think there should be a team of people close to Ned and keep an eye on these activities and throw people out or ban them for good amount of time, even if they are Orca/Whale if their behavior harms the long-term vision of this platform and is agianst the philosophy on which Steemit is build upon.
Such a good platform with such a noble vision and few mad people with lot of money and power will make it go to dust.
God save Steemit!
It is good to have someone on board that is searching for quality content. There is plenty of that and it is hard for those who do their best to shine in the murky waters. What matters is that a judge is a hearty fella that recognizes the effort someone puts in the creation of a content.
hahahah this is awesome you guys goijng after the negative people? good riddance idk why they would want to be on here anyway lets keeop steemit from allowing all those horrible comments that youtube allows
