Black Lives Matter. Social activism
Black Lives Matter is a human rights movement that focuses on changing the social disparity of Black lives in societies. It’s rooted in the unfinished revolutions of the 1960’s.
The fight for justice and equality has been ongoing for decades and now more than ever, Social change is urgent.
#Blacklivesmatter movement is not diminishing other groups rights - But highlights the injustices faced by black people. Through digital activism campaigns, it’s grown strong and highlights the violence and systemic racism aimed at black people.
Recognising systematic racism is neither racist nor is it the hatred of others. It is determination to promote equality.
For ecoafriq this is a movement that reminds us of solidarity and growth. Our business is influenced by African arts and culture. We are proud of who we are and our heritage.
It’s heart breaking to see that in the year 2020 our communities still have to endure the unfairness that comes with being black. Mistreatment of one individual speaks to us all. As a business this is motivation to keep growing and encourage equality and respect, wherever we do business.
The world needs different kinds of people to work. Now is the opportunity to rebuild our society the way we wished it was.
We all have a responsibility towards Social Change and must recognise our place and behaviour in society, learn to respect each other’s culture and our own worth. We should start by learning to understand our society’s pain and be present with it, so that we can uphold values that encourage Equality, Love and Respect.
