What does this really mean? You can grow on the outside, for a while, but if the inner building is falling apart, then eventually, you will fall apart on the outside as well. But, if you grow on the inside, if you build your inner man, if you work on your character, your morale, your values, and strengthen your character, then that will in the end, be seen on the outside as well.

An example of what I am saying

Many people, especially girls, use make up to look even nicer. Can you imagine a person who is looking quite bad on the outside due to problems on the inside? She is constantly using make up to cower her faults. She might be able to keep outward appearance for a while, but in the end, she will fail.

Instead, if she would focus on ther inside and grow in her character, then she would be able to change inward, which eventually, might change her outward appearance, and maybe she will not even need to use make up in the end.

After all, true beauty comes from the inside. If you are happy and satisfied on the inside, it is impossible to hide it from the people around you. But, if you are rotten and sad on the inside, then you can try to fix your outward appearance, but in the end, sadness and bitterness is what can be seen in the end.
