The blockchain we wish and the blockchain we create
S.I.N. as a tool of development
According to trading economics, the unemployment rate in Nigeria increased to 14.2 percent in the last quarter of 2016 from 10.4 percent a year earlier. It is the highest jobless rate since 2009 as the number of unemployed went up by 3.5 million to 11.549 million while employment rose at a slower 680.8 thousand to 69.6 million.

The S.I.N initiative, birthed from the notion that poverty could be defeated with the idea of the steem blockchain, was focused on rapidly repopulating the blockchain with the creativity it needs to drive the world forward towards a peaceful and more rewarding society.
Unemployment has been associated with high crime rates, even coming in as one of notable causes of crime in the society. This bags the question the question: "if unemployment is tackled, what happens to crime?"
The problem, is that when people are brought in into the platform, they are usually abandoned to find their way solely on their own, this causes a relapse and creates a back to square one scenario where abandonment becomes a problem.
Bringing people into the platform is half the job, sustenance and proper grooming becomes necessary and that is another core value the S.I.N. crew has been working on.
Are we an ordinary meet up? Are we a gathering? The answer would be a yes and no at the same time. Yes in the conventional sense and no in the sense that we see ourselves as much more. We interpret the blockchain needs and act accordingly, that makes us a blockchain phenomenon.
Initially, a simple advert was enough to sway people, but right now the blockchain requires more than that as there are numerous competitors out there competing for what the blockchain has in abundance and that is excellence.
Truth be told, a competition is one who is equally matched with the other, but the uniqueness of the steem blockchain gives it a touch of excellence and one wonders why it is still undervalued by some when it could be adopted by all, the Steemit In Nigeria initiative hopes to fix that.
Among what makes the blockchain unique is the fact that the Steem Backed Dollar, being a unique 'blogger' cryptocurrency, has not only broken it's supposed $1 mark, it has sustained an all time high and that goes to show another quality of the steem blockchain which is possibility and the Steemit In Nigeria team has shown time and again, the drive to enable well meaning individuals partake in the possibility.
S.I.N. and Nigeria's statistics
The Steemit In Nigeria initiative has provided the spark for steem domination in the Nigerian market and as evident by blockchain records, the steemit in Nigeria drive has birthed so many campaigns with similar drives for the Nigerian populace.
Unemployment and account creation
Unemployment has received a blow due to efforts spurned from the steemit in Nigeria initiative and other like minded initiatives.
So many accounts have been created in Nigeria since the inception of the steemit in Nigeria initiative kick started in May, below is a statistics of accounts opened, look at the charts and focus on the sharp difference from May till December.
As evident, the difference is clear, there has been an influx into the blockchain in the past few months especially in Nigeria and this is a sign of real progress. For every new sign up, there is a corresponding decrease by one in the total number of unemployed Nigerian in the world.
Partnerships and mergers
This year, the steemit in Nigeria crew has been more focused on growing a better platform and producing exceedingly amazing results and surpassing the achievements of last year and also learning from a mistake or two.
Last week, some members of the steemit in Nigeria crew comprising of:
- @ehiboss
- @destinysaid
- @illuminatus
- @gbenga
- @steve1122
- @mimy
- @mediahousent
- @oluwatobiloba
Went to Sapele in Delta state for week and had a series of meetings to plan for the future of the blockchain using the Steemit in Nigeria initiative to push the platform to greater heights.
From left to right, @ehiboss with the red and black long sleeve top, @illuminatus on black short sleeve, while @mimy was the photographer.
We had our first wave of meeting with the members of the steem camp crew comprising of: - @michaelcj
- @nmalove
- @jacobite
- @casweeney
Picture above was when we were saying the opening prayer with @mimy as usual doing the work of the photographer and secretary.
It was a lengthy meeting which dragged until night fall, with the Steemit in Nigeria crew agreeing to sponsor the steem camp crew with one million naira (almost $3,000) to help ensure the success of their event.
At the end of the meeting, everyone took some time out to unwind and have a good time, before the Steemit in Nigeria crew present proceeded to continue with further meetings. Contact the crew for further information.
We also met with the organizer of the steemit campus invasion to discuss plans on how to include his wonderful idea into the Steemit In Nigeria calendar and we came to a smooth agreement. More on the subject will be talked on by @destinysaid, please stalk his blog for full details.
The members of @leadent360 also took some time out to meet and discuss pushing the blockchain forward to greater heights with upcoming projects by 360 Lead Entertainment to be announced on the @leadent360 account.
Other meetings were held also to discuss various progressive projects which we'll be seeing the impact of those meetings soon.
Brief rundown of SIN2
SIN2 slated for November (not going to coincide with Steemfest3), will be held in Abuja, Federal Capital territory in Nigeria. This will be better as registrations will be open as from ending of January or early February and it will be online registration with steem, sbd and fiat as the three preferred payment options.
Maximum security is guaranteed and our official logo will be unveiled soon and so will the website. To ensure ease, the SIN2 calendar was created to accommodate the program of events with ease.
Accommodation, feeding, registration will be done on the website and we encourage people to do it as soon as possible as we are allowing people a large time frame to ensure convenience when paying.
Our target this year is full blown steem domination and we intend to achieve that by all means.

I totally agree with you on this. I think if a poll should be conducted or a geo search done, we'll discover that the number of Nigerians and Nigerian communities on steemit is massive and amazing.
Today I navigated my Facebook timeline and a lot of persons were talking about steemit here and there. I was so happy and said to my self "Finally!!! The publicity is making impacts"
I'm so happy about it and yes as you said, it has reduced poverty among some the creative youths to them bearest minumum - using myself as an example.
Words answered emotions won't just let me explain the amazing thing the Steemit platform and steem blockchain has done in so many people's lives.
I pray this platform continues to grow and wax stronger and stronger.
In other news, we will do everything possible to fly the Nigerian flag higher and show that Nigeria is a country full with knowledgeable people who use technology in creative and imaginative ways.
We will show the world that Nigeria is a great nation with good people.
We will show the world that we are unique and that we stand out.
We will remove the bad image our country was painted and lift it higher and higher.
Happy Steeming
Keep it up. I love your idea. I believe the rate of poverty in Nigeria will decrease by the reason of S. I. N.
keep it up bro @ehiboss
Tell me why I won't say I am proud of Nigeria. We love each other and love to see each other grow. Great job @ehiboss.
Wow.. Nigeria won't remain the same by the end of 2018. I look forward to working with you guys.

Yours is a bold initiative at adding value to the society. It's a good example of social responsibility and what makes yours unique is that it is without prompting, purely of your own free will and accord. I can only add that you have the tacit support, prayer and love of many co-Stemians and the beneficiaries of your initiative. Those who add value to others cannot but have value added unto them. Keep moving in the direction of your purpose, ma friend.
By the way, that snapshot of you and @illuminatus at Sapele is spontaneous and creative in a quiet manner.
Hehehehe...... I took the picture!
Lol
Good job!
SIN has achieve enormous work, come 2018 I see you guys achieving more. Together we can.
