Steemit Virus, A Way Of Eradicating Poverty In The Third World Countries; Steem - Lagos Meetup, A Way Of Linking With Steemians In Nigeria

in #growth-ideas7 years ago

In a country of 182.2 million people, with 3/4 of the population living below $1 a day, and a few proportion of the remaining 1/4 living and surviving with N18,000 as minimum wage/month which is about $57 a month. Poverty and penury is said to be in it's peak where i come from.

We suffer bad governance, poor healthcare, bad roads, corruption, and so many act of indiscipline.

You wonder where i come from? Well, I will help you out! I come from a country where big political thieves who embezzle billions of dollars are being celebrated while petty thieve who steal less than a dollar because of unemployment, no education and lack of food are being burnt or stoned. I come from a country where citizens live like beggars, they move the street looking for $1.6 in order to feed himself, his wife, three children and probably give to his parent so as to support what they have. I come from a country where 20% of the population is homeless and helpless without any hope of survival.

But in this country, a few people have decided to make a diiference. They want to bring poverty a stop in their lives and the lives of others they able to come across.

STEEM - LAGOS MEETUP

The steem - Lagos, is an initiative birthed in other to bring Nigerian steemians together and help build this love, unity, peace and togetherness.

On saturday, 8th of july 2017, steem travelled to lagos and it met 9 steemians who i call the exclusive 9 which comprises of @purplerabbit, @icontola, @epikcoin, @peman, @sammie85, @oluwoleolaide, @lucashunter @harbysco and my humble self @gbenga.

In the meetup we showed love, we were able to create steemit awareness in Lagos and we were able to look t how we could contribute to the growth of steemit.

MY WAY OF CONTRIBUTING TO STEEMIT

Have you experienced puverty maybe you haven't, an average nigerian would tell you how he buys garri (cassava flour)and grandnut (peanut) with 2 pure water (satchet water) to eat and survive. The total cost of the meal is not up of 0.500 USD and that is poverty.

My humble way of adding to the community and helping nigeria is to bring in more users through my #steemit-virus campaign.

PLEADING FOR SUPPORT FROM STEEMIANS

I'm not doing these things for selfish reasons, i am only willing to help and with that i'm planning to touch the 36 major states in nigeria and bring in Nigerians to steemit. Presently, i have been able to visit Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Abuja bringing over 100 steemians on board and tergetting 1000+ before the end of the year. Tomorrow, i would be travelling to Ekiti State from lagos state, crossing about three state which is a 6 hours journey on car, just to spread the steemit virus.

I want to plead with steemian to support the community in anyway they can instead being selfish, thinking about how to get from the community without giving back.

THANKS FOR READING, PLEASE I WELCOME COMMENTS, CRITICS AND CONTRIBUTIONS. I LOVE TO CONNECT A LOT AND I LOVE LEARNING BECAUSE I'M A PRODUCT OF CONTINOUS LEARNING.

Thanks bro... i hope to visit lagos on our next meetup. I really enjoyed it, and you guys are the best

It was really enlightening sharing ideas and meeting with you guys. Keep up the good work. May the forces be with you.

Thanks dear, i really enjoyed every moment we shared. Together we can contribute to steemit

Oh shit! Would have been an opportunity to finally meet you!

It's exciting to see you're beginning to take on some more responsibilities! Well done

I've been fighting poverty in my town by getting to know and helping the homeless and it's exciting to see my most recent post telling our story and theirs finally getting some traction.

Hearing about a country being 20% homeless is incredibly sad; and America could be on our way there if we don't change our ways or breakaway from the systemic anti-social and immoral behaviors, government control and lack of motivation for people to DO something as a community about these problems.

You are doing a good thing @gbenga.. I salute your courage my friend.

Boss thanks. I really learned a lot from you.

Great initiative to spread the word.

Thank you very much @rynow, i really appreciate you visiting my blog-post
