Hello My Steem Fam!

I'm really excited to announce I got off my procrastinating ass, and got my hands real nice and dirty today. I'm so satisfied right now as I type this, sore in all the right places (the gardening places!) and completely beat after Kiedis and I planted food all over the front yard. It haz begun...

My bestest helper @kiedisbowes planting sunflower seeds. We're going to have a tonne of them this year, I will grow beans up the stalks since I seem to have better luck with sunflowers than corn for the "Three Sisters".

Can you tell I save my own? All those brown bags are full of last year's seeds LOL. Today we planted sunflowers, poppies, sage, sugar peas, radish, a variety of lettuces, and cosmos.

Did you see the gardening gloves in the seedy porn photo? It's so weird, I totally wanted to wear them, and then when I went to go plant I couldn't find them anywhere! I still haven't found those friggin things. I do not do well with gloves...in the winter or the spring!

The poor girls are in the run now...we'll be put up some more swings for them, and of course buy lots and lots of straw so that they can be in scratching chicken swinger heaven all summer long.

All of the dead tomato and cucumber plants were still in the beds, I ripped it all out.

Some Plants Are Growing Without My Help

Strawberry I've got them all over the place now because I planted their runners for the last 3 years. All of our strawberries come from just 3 plants that we bought when we first moved here.

I'm pretty sure those are hollyhock seedlings carpeting that area. That's where they were all falling anyways, so it would make sense. I just didn't know they could seed themselves this easily in such poor soil right there in the aisle, it's practically sand!

Thanks very much for being happy for me @em3 <3 <3

Great job! My own garden is at 90% capacity. Grow your own. Teach your own. Make your own! Thanks for sharing and I hope you find those gloves.

HAHA I am destined to have battered and dirty hands, but hey, I have read that it's really good for us to get soil into our skin, so I think it was divine intervention.... <3 <3

I think you love gardening. Really it is very interesting. The the plants grow it makes you happy. I love gardening. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks @bluelightbandit, I feel really really good right now!! Nothing like the start of a garden... <3 <3

Muddy hands are always a good sign.

I have gardening gloves but I much prefer not to use them. There is something quite magical about the direct contact with the soil...

You got it Pennsif, I didn't wear them once last year hahaha, my hands are atrocious by the end of summer hahahha, but mmmmmm....natural antibiotics and stress relievers!!!

Takes me back to my childhood too. I used to love playing in the dirt, and building damns in the nearby stream. I was always a good test for my mum's washing machine.

Great, I love greenery. I love sunflowers and those pinky cosmos. Thanks for sharing the video too.

You will love to see this in a couple months, I cannot wait to show you!

I really like the spirit that is on @lyndsaybowes. always diligent and smiling doing the job. I hope your crops harvest very much.

Hi @musliwadi! Thank you for the nice wish <3 <3 <3
