A lot of the in-depth discussion in on slack. It's good that you like using steemit most, we need more discussion happening on more public and accessable places like reddit and steemit.
As for news of what's happening, Testnet tests are still ongoing, Developers are working on fixed a few more sync from 0 bugs and a prevTX bug that gets the wallet stuck on a number of blocks.
