Coordinated Marketing Campaign by gridcoin.io on October 13, 2017 (10'000 GRC to be won)
On October 13 2017 the website www.gridcoin.io will launch a coordinated marketing campaign to inform people about gridcoin. The campaign was already succesful with me, as I joined gridcoin mining after reading an email of gridcoin.io at the beginning of July of this year (2017). If you would like to join the marketing campaign, there is little time, so hurry up and read the instructions at the bottom of this article carefully.
I am a long time BOINC contributor and saw first gridcoin in 2016, but at the time I estimated the effort to join gridcoin as too difficult and cumbersome.
This changed after reading the email of gridcoin.io. Additionally, the website was so kind to donate me 3 gridcoins. This allowed me to advertise the beacon on the gridcoin network and to start mining. I then started with some friends a Garage Mining Company.
In two months, we reached 300 mining magnitude and we bunkered 300'000 gridcoins and we keep growing as it is very easy to get new people interested into gridcoin. By contrast, I remember in 2014 trying to convince people about the advantages of bitcoin, which was very difficult.
So, what is the advantage of gridcoin compared to bitcoin? gridcoin inherits most of the source code of bitcoin, so it is very secure. However, bitcoin wastes energy in performing always the same and tedious computation to attempt to invert a cryptographic hash function. This is needed to select a miner eligible to receive bitcoins. On the contrary, gridcoin allows miners to participate in scientific research project and to be rewarded in gridcoin for their computations. It is possible to partecipate in cancer, AIDS, Ebola and Zika research, to perform climate studies, to narrow down the orbit of potential hazardous asteroids, to solve mathematical projects and to hunt for subatomic particles, just to name the most succesful BOINC projects. Doing so, the energy is not wasted, but it is used to advance mankind and to make the world a better place to live in.

Awesome, that is great to hear that this worked out, I am starting a similar idea within my area, this would really help me get up to solo mining. In time I want to refurbish computers and give back to the community, maybe with a boinc program preloaded and grc wallet. I am working on a post about this subject. Upvoted and resteemed

I changed the date from 1st October to 13 October as the marketing campaign was delayed by two weeks to adapt the logo and to get the missing 13 supporters out of 250. At time of writing the social reach is 145'208 people.
