Gridcoin - Explanation and Coin Review
Gridcoin is an incentive mechanism for the distributed computing software BOINC. As of January 2018 Gridcoin is responsible for incentivizing 28% of BOINC computations. These contributions are primarily used by scientists and universities, giving them access to a decentralized supercomputer to help with projects.

I already installed Boinc, and a few projects are already working. I need some Gridcoins for the wallet right now. They say 100 to 200 should be needed for activation. Can someone send me some? In return I can give 100% upvotes or pay in steem.

100 or 200 GRC is not enough for solo mining (you should be very lucky to stake with that amount), I recommend you to use pool. Or buy ~2000 GRC
Good post , can tell its introductory and I am glad @delta1512 dropped a url with most of the info , there are a few websites beyond www.gridcoin.us , there is gridcoin.network , gridcoin.science , gridcoin.ddns.net and https://grcexplorer.neuralminer.io/network and I think the list goes on. There is a faucet channel on the Gridcoin discord in #wallet-bot and there is a 3hr faucet android application available on the play store. There are many resources , welcome to the team. Some of those tools are handy , like discord has !help and if you are new and instead of syncing all the way up to 1308102 from 0 you can use the command on discord and on frenode irc in #gridcoin !snapshot and get the latest snapshot of the network to speed things up.
Thanks for all the details Jamezz, I just wanted to keep this video brief and show the basics of Gridcoin. I appreciate you guys adding in everything that people need to get started. The Gridcoin community is small but more active than for any other coin review I have posted.

I have one comment when you mention at 2:50 that it is useless to leave devices run idle. In principle you are right but people need to keep in mind that it does cost money running systems at full load. For example for a mid-size PC with suitable GPU it could be 1kW / 8 hours.
Thanks parejan. Unfortunately it would be too much work to add that in at this point, I think most people understand that they will be using electricity for the work. If I make a follow up I will be sure to add that fact in.
