FIRST SNOW OF THE SEASON
Hello all my friends in this wonderful Steemit community!!

This morning we awoke to the first snow of the season. The first snow is always beautiful, my wife is excited and going downstairs to tell our daughter as I type.

Our daughter Lesly is from the WWH2H orphanage in Honduras. Of course she has seen snow before, but she is always excited and full of wonder, just as my wife.
Traditional snowfall rule
It is considered a official snowfall "if it is heavy enough to track a cat."

Mind you, we've had a few light snow flurries already, but they didn't collect enough to be considered the "first snow." Did you know there is actually a rule determining whether it is an actual snowfall. Keep in mind, to count the number of snowfalls, you need to know this rule.
Yep, the first snow is beautiful, it's good to enjoy the journey and be grateful for the little things in life!!

You are right, the first snow fall is always beautiful, however, the last snow fall of the season is my favorite because that means spring is just around the corner. :D

Ah snow... why I live in Arkansas!
Do you live near @papa-pepper? He lives in Arkansas.
He's kind of on the other end of the state I think... he did bring his incredible family by to visit. His kids are awesome, his youngest daughter looks almost exactly like my grand daughter!
Yeah, he's a friend. I live in his hometown.

OH WOW - we really do have much in common, I like food!!
I remember my kids being really excited about the first snowfall when they were younger. You know, ready for tobogganing, skiing, snowmobiles and skating. Hockey season. Now that they are older, the freshness has worn off. Something about shovelling the darned stuff. At least that's what my two in Canada tell me...
Those are good memories!! And the kids still get excited!! (Yeah, it wears off quickly)
