DAY TWO - GRATITUDE CHALLENGE

I'M grateful for this great pic! Handsome dude, yes?! Actually this is up in the Desolation Wilderness area just west of Lake Tahoe where I like to go back packing. I may look a little weary in this pic but had been up all night. I had gone to Burning Man the previous day, and it was wild, but not for me. So in the middle of the night I packed up my gear, headed home and got my backpacking stuff together and headed for the hills to commune with my Mother. So I'm grateful for the mountains and wilderness. 
This is one of my pups: Trooper. He is a catahula leopard dog. He is older now... a distinguished gentleman who is just now helping me by keeping my feet warm! Grateful for my companions.
I mean who wouldn't be grateful for duck butts!? I know I am, especially when they are foraging for bugs and stuff down at the river.
I could not figure out what the duck butts WERE, so thanks for explaining! (now that I know, though, OF COURSE I love them too! Ha! ) I think I would feel the same - kind of an experience to see and be at Burning Man - just for a bit - then run off to the solace of the woods to decompress and reground from the crazy out in the wild :)
Yeah, I'm glad Burning Man is there and that so many people love it, but I'm just not a "burner" as they call themselves. I'll take a quite mountain lake anytime over the chaos of souls at BM.
I am finding it amusing that my first 'earnings' here are 6 cents from a comment about duck butts!! Quack quack toot! :) LOL!! I've been perusing many of your posts, great stuff all around! Thanks again!

Burning man was a little to crazy huh? Looks like you made a better choice. I would rather be there where you are now. Im getting out next week for some backpacking. My soul is out of joint and I need some time out in my "church" as I call it. Blessings and take care brother
Yes, indeed, one can only sit in front of the computer doing Steemit for so long before ones goes bat shit crazy. I'm actually headed out for a quick trip into the desert tomorrow. Blessings.
I love to hike and camp also Your first picture has me yearning for summer. The harder it is to hike in somewhere the more rewarding the trip.
In your second picture it looks like Trooper is wondering what your doing. Dogs make great hiking companions.
