Sitting around eating ice-cream, I come across the @paradise-found post, highlighted by @papa-pepper, introducing the new #gratefulvibes category on Steemit.

I said "Gather around family, I'm going to get a selfie with all of you!"

Using my expertly acquired selfie skills (learned 12 rounds of pp's Selfie contest), I gathered up my family and snapped this photo with my phone. The littlest one didn't know why we we were all hanging around her booster seat, she looked up to figure out what was going on.

And this is why I am grateful to God: For Family

I'm in the fortunate situation where I can work from home. This allows me to be with my family almost the entire day. And if I leave for any reason, it's like the greatest catastrophe for my children. "Can I come with you?" or "Why can't I come with you?" echos throughout the house. Because I'm home almost all the time. We mostly do things together as a family. Including unannounced steemit selfies.

I am also in the fortunate situation where my parents are living right next door. My children know their grandparents almost as well as they know their parents. I see my mom and dad just about every day. If we want invite them over for dinner, just a quick question "wanna come over for dinner tonight?"

It takes practice to be grateful, it's so easy to take things for granted.

And I'm sure there are blessings from above that I totally miss. That is why I always thank God for the rain. The rain. Even if it messes with our plans. Even if it floods our street.
