I am glad to see that the first week of this season 21 completed and 2nd week started, thanks teacher @lahorgic for this wonderful lecture on Introduction to Logo Design.

Q.1 - Discuss Logo design based on your understanding about the topic.

Logo designing is a form of creative activity in which the identifying symbol of an organization.company or brand is converted into a visual/Graphic symbol. The use of a logo is ultimately to set a particular company or brand apart and to allow a viewer to immediately identify the company. A logo is a combination of color, shape and font which in this case is designed to capture the company’s message and strength.

This means that before trying to create a logo, to represent a certain company or brand, one has to essentially determine what this company or brand is all about. They then integrate the different aspects to come up with design that captures the company and charts its destiny. For instance, if the company’s products are green, then its logo can be green with simple shapes so that the common man gets the message.

Generally, good logo design should be simple. The straightforward logos have certain appeal, and the simpler logos are easy to recall. The same also applies to a logo design in that it should be clear against various sizes and background such as on a business card or even a billboard.

Coloring is also a feature that makes a logo look unique from the rest of the logos out in the market and so is the font. It has been found that each colour in the flag is a symbol, for instance, the blue is representative of confidence. font also indicates the style of the company; For example, if the brand is youth-oriented, the modern fonts can be used.

Last but not the least, concern with the research and latest trend about logo needs to be considered while designing the logo, so that the logo works in effective way for the long run and supports the growth and success of the brand.

Q.2 - Discuss extensively the role and impact of logo to a brand.

Logo leaves a lasting impression in a brand. Being a symbol, it establishes the company’s identity, and helps it find its obvious place in the minds of the people. To the people, if the word brand is mentioned, what is the first thing that will strike into their mind is the logo of that brand. Its importance is that it contributes to formation of brand image and lays a foundation to the brand awareness among the people.

In the first place, a logo is an element of a brand. Since most organization logos are simple and catchy, and contain short memorable phrases, people are always able to relate to them. Contrary to many people’s perception, a good logo assists in conveying a brand’s message; for instance, its values, services, or product quality.

This is especially because a logo also bears a direct relationship with success in brands. It also impacts the logo of a firm when people consider it as being of quality and being a trustworthy organization. The brand deserves to have a constant logo for reinforcement of the brand and customer loyalty.

However, the main idea about what the logo is, can also be associated with the definition of the brand’s marketing position. When done properly on social media, TV, or a printed material, the logo takes the brand to the next level reaching more customers. That way, we can reach more ears and at least even have the chance at success.

Besides, any logo also reflects its influence on a brand in terms of its ability to appeal to customers’ feelings. Concerning the arguments for the logo: people associate certain notion with the picture of the logo of the brand they see. Logo is therefore perceived as a strategic leverage to thrive as it opens up brand prestige and acknowledgment.

Q.3 - Explain and demonstrate visually the do's and don't when it comes to Logo design. You can do more research to be outstanding and kindly ensure not to use my specimen logo.

Graphic design especially logo design is another art that is central in the process of management of brands’ image and information. The principles that a logo design should follow are as follows. Below are some basics logo design tips that should be helpful if followed to the letter.

Apply these Tips ( Do's )

1. Simplicity


The strategy of logo design should be explained and it is that the design is unique and simple. Instead of designing a logo complicated and delicate, there should be a simple and easily understandable style of logo design so that the memory of the logo for a long time.

2. Correct Selection of Colors


It is important to decide what personality and message are conveyed by the brand and then choose the proper color for this brand. Land on excellent colors that bring on impressive impact as well as denote the brand right. This makes its appearance to be more professional and less clustered when used with other logos, restrict the number of hues.

3. Memorable and Unique Design


The positioning should be such that it puts the logo out of the league of other logos available in the market. Unique design helps to remin people about the brand and the ones who are associated with the brand.

4. Usable at Different Levels


The logo should be effective to slice both electronic and print media and from a business card to a billboard. They should be such that the quality of logo is retained no matter the size to which the logo is shrunk.

Avoid From Them (Don't)

1. Avoid too Much Details


In situations where possible it is wise to exclude additional information in the logo. When there are so many aspects which are incorporated, the logo loses its clear appearance and can be a big let down.

2. Avoid Using Different Fonts


Never should there be more than one or two fonts used in a logo. It makes the logo appear amateurish and clumsy to use too many font types within a logo.

3. Avoid Copy Designs


The logo must be distinctive, standing out from all of the other logos of existing companies. Indeed, imitation of another brand or a popular design may land the brand in series of legal complications and also demean the image of the brand.

4. Others include, Using Incorrect Colours


People should avoid those colors which take away from the branding message or are just unattractive to the eye. The use of colours enables organisations convey their brands effectively.

Thus, elementalize, the choice of the right colors, distinctiveness and recognition, versatility, including at the level of a logo, can be recognized as the key principles of logo design. That way you can create a professional and acceptable logo for your brand to be associated with.

Q.4 - Design a simple logo with the knowledge you have gotten from this lesson by assuming that a client gave you a job to design for his brand (business).

A client approached me to design a logo and gave me his business name. Which was called Agroshop is actually a seed company of his and he wants to make a logo for his company. They told me that if they wanted to bring a seed company along with the shop, I said that it would be done.

After that, I started designing them which I will share with you step by step.

  • I opened my Canva app on my mobile and then selected the dimension size.
  • I choose the light green color which code #38BD7D

  • I selected the crycle from the element.
  • I also selected plant logo from elements
  • set them in the middle one by one and resize, as can be seen in pics.

  • I added text in this logo and write Agri Shop
  • Then I wrote Seed Company
